Hillbark Hotel

Wedding Photography

Hillbark Hotel is an exquisite wedding venue set in scenic parkland on the Wirral.

The wedding venue is located in Royden Park even though it was first originally built on Bidston Hill in Birkenhead. The owner decided to move the building as they loved the surrounding woodlands where the building now sits. It was moved stone by stone to its present site and finished in 1931. The delightful hotel contains a lot of unique features including stained glass windows and a Jacobean fireplace in the Great hall which dates back to 1527. After working at this gorgeous venue I would recommend having your big day at Hillbark hotel. For more information about weddings at Hillbark please click here www.hillbarkhotel.co.uk/weddings

Debbi & Rupert’s wedding at Hillbark Hotel

The wedding day started with the bride Debbi in the Bridal suite at Hillbark and her husband to be Rupert down the corridor in the best man’s room. The bride and her bridesmaids had a relaxing morning together listening to music and talking about the day to be while I captured lots of photographs of them whilst they had their makeup and hair done. While there was a relaxing cap before the dresses went on, I went to see the groom. He was with his best man getting ready which doesn’t take as long for the men. I took some more photographs while put finishing touches to his outfit and followed him to the reception where his flowers and car to the Church were waiting for him.

When the groom had left it was time for the bride to step into her lovely dress. With her Dad waiting at the bottom of the stairs in the hotel she made her way down to show him her dress. There was tears of joy and laugher not only from her Dad but also her bridesmaids. With everyone ready the cars from Hillbark hotel took the wedding party over to the church in Liverpool in time for the ceremony to begin.

Wedding portraits at Hillbark Hotel

With a Lovely ceremony in the Church in Liverpool the couple said their vows and it was time for some photographs outside with the liver building in the background. Due to covid this was a small ceremony but every was in high spirts and guest even had marks matching their outfits. The Cars from Hillbark then took the wedding party back to the hotel while the guests made their own way to be greeted with champagne on arrival. After lots of congratulations and a few drinks we took the couple out for a walk around the beautiful grounds to capture some portrait photographs of the happy couple. This is also a nice moment for the couple to have a few minutes along to enjoy the day. After a sort walk it wasn’t long before the bridesmaids joined us for a few photographs as they never like to miss out on the fun. It was soon time for the wedding breakfast with the wonderful food from Hillbark

After some lovely speeches, the guests moved to the sofas for some cups of tea and a few more drinks while the cake was set up for cutting. We take photographs of the whole day as everyone wedding is different, and this means you don’t miss out when looking back at your day. Due to Covid a normal evening reception could not happen but the couple where still able to cutting the cake and have their first dance with all their close family watching by. We had a lovely time at Debbi and Rupert’s wedding and we wish them all the best for the future, thank you for letting me photograph your wedding, it was a pleasure to tell your story.
