Documentary and editorial wedding photography and film
Welcome. We are Mike and Vicky, the husband and wife team behind Capture My Big Day.
Together we photograph and film weddings across Cheshire, the UK and throughout Europe. Our work blends natural documentary storytelling with an editorial eye, capturing weddings in a way that feels authentic while still creating beautiful imagery and films couples will treasure.
Every wedding has its own rhythm. The anticipation of the morning preparations, the emotion during the ceremony, the quiet moments between couples and the energy of the evening celebration. Our role is simply to observe these moments as they unfold and capture them honestly.
Two perspectives, one story
Mike works as a hybrid photographer and filmmaker, moving seamlessly between photography, film and modern wedding content creation throughout the day.
Vicky focuses primarily on wedding filmmaking and content creation while also capturing photography during key moments. Her natural eye for movement and emotion helps bring the atmosphere of the day to life through film.
When couples book both photography and film, we work side by side throughout the entire day, capturing multiple perspectives while keeping everything relaxed and unobtrusive
Family at the heart of everything
Outside of weddings we are also parents to two young children, a daughter and a son, and family life plays a huge role in how we see the world.
Being surrounded by those everyday moments has only strengthened our appreciation for what weddings are really about. The people, the relationships and the memories that matter long after the day itself.
That perspective shapes how we approach every wedding we photograph and film.
The heart of a wider team
Although you will often see us together on wedding days, Capture My Big Day is supported by a small trusted team of photographers and filmmakers we have worked alongside for many years.
Mike and Vicky remain the heart of the business, carefully planning each wedding and often leading the coverage ourselves. When additional coverage is needed, our team helps ensure every moment is captured while maintaining the same natural approach and style.
Beyond weddings
Alongside photographing weddings across the UK and Europe, we are also passionate about education within the industry.
Through Big Day Workshops we host destination photography workshops across Europe, helping photographers refine their craft and develop their storytelling.
We also host the Big Day Talk podcast, where we speak with leading venues and suppliers, sharing insight and advice from across the wedding industry.
