Alcumlow Wedding Barn | Victoria & Josh

Wedding Photography & Videography

We were delighted when Victoria and Josh asked us to photograph and film their special day at Alcumlow Hall Farm in Astbury, near to Congleton, Cheshire. Their reception was to be held in the traditional Dutch Barn at Alcumlow Hall. This rustic Wedding Barn venue set in the Cheshire countryside, with views towards the Mow Cop Castle ruins. The barn inside is decorated with thousands of twinkling fairy lights which gives a lovely fairy tale feeling in the day and looks romantic by night time. The grounds around the barn are beautiful with fields and metal window sculptures which is perfect for photo opportunity. Church Wedding

Their wedding ceremony took place at the Grade II listed Norley Church St Johns, in the village of Norley, Cheshire. The Church is a lovely red sandstone Gothic style building, set in the Cheshire countryside. The Drone camera filmed the Church and surrounding countryside and was a beautiful introduction to Victoria and Josh’s Wedding film, about to take place below. It was an eventful day as the bride forgot her bouquet, so before she could walk down the aisle with her dad the wedding car driver drove back to the house to collect the bouquet. We were able to capture some lovely photographs of Victoria waiting in the church arch way with her bridesmaids and flower girls and the groom very nervously waiting inside. It wasn’t long till the father of the bride was proudly walking his daughter down the aisle and even shed a tear when he gave her hand to Josh. This was a lovely moment to catch on camera as the couple will be able to watch this moment again.

Victoria & Josh wedding at Alcumlow wedding barn

After a beautiful ceremony, everyone went straight to Alcumlow barn. The couple greeted their wedding guest with hugs and kisses and everyone got themselves a drink and some canapes whilst enjoying the lovely venue. Before the wedding breakfast, we took some family photographs and then took the bride and groom for a stroll to capture some lovely moments. We always catch the bride and groom on film when entering the venue for their wedding breakfast, we also film the speeches and edit them as a separate video. This is so the couples can watch it back to laugh and cry again at their big day.

Victoria & Josh’s wedding was a colourful country-style relaxed day, with atmospheric monochrome photographs to capture the romance of the occasion. Victoria and Josh were happy to run with a smoke bomb and dance in a white outdoor church, a great fun day for all. As the evening began the celebrations started with the cutting of the cake and the first dance under the twinkling fairy lights which got everyone into a lovely party mood. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Field on their wedding, and thank you for inviting us to play a small part in your Big Day.

Wedding Photography and Film

Our ethos is to film and photograph in a natural, unobtrusive way, letting the story of each Special Day unfold. Each wedding is unique, and we like to meet with the Bride and Groom before the wedding to get to know each other. When we film and photograph we are already at ease in each other’s company and they can relax and enjoy the day. Filming is the media that captures the emotion in spoken words, the warmth in hugs and embraces, the pop of Champagne corks, and the energy in expressions. We film the side stories that may have been missed and the heart and soul of an occasion that only a film-maker can capture. These memories are there to be relived and enjoyed time and again.
